A recent blog post by Forrester Research said that while the Internet-connected TV may be popular among producers, "consumers are struggling to understand the benefits."People "seems unable to imagine to do anything with these TV than watching more TELEVISION," says Forrester.
Forrester surveyed nearly 4,000 adults in the United States and found that the top uses people to use their Internet-connected TV includes Netflix, full-length TV episodes, movie rentals, and get access to pictures, music and video stored on their home computers, Facebook, Twitter and Farmville does not seem to attract users to the Internet-connected TV.
Hope for the future
However, there is some hope for the future of Google and its competitors; there are only two million Internet-connected TV in USA today, according to The New York Times, But Forrester says major electronics retailers in the United States has already committed itself to selling only Internet-connected TV 2011.2015, market research firm predicts, one-third of U.S. homes will have Internet-connected TVS. so that Internet-connected TV set-top boxes are clear and here to stay, but it is unclear whether people are prepared to use them.
